About Let Them Eat Cake
Let Them Eat Cake, often shortened to LTEC or LTECNYD, is a one-day New Year's Day electronic music festival in Melbourne. Its ticketing page describes it as a cultural gathering formed to explore the union of music and art, and it has been a fixture of the city's festival calendar for well over a decade. For most of its history the festival was held in the heritage grounds of Werribee Park.
The 2027 festival takes place on Friday 1 January 2027 from midday to 11pm at The Nursery at Flemington, a new inner-city site. Resident Advisor reports that this will be the festival's 14th edition. The move follows the 2026 edition, which was billed as an inner-city special at Coburg Velodrome, with 1tbsp, Folamour and VTSS at the top of the bill.
The 2027 lineup leans international. French techno artist Anetha, German producer Boys Noize and UK pair Joy Orbison and Ewan McVicar head the bill, joined by New Zealand house duo Chaos In The CBD, Aotearoa's Lady Shaka and UK selector Kirollus. Local acts include Jennifer Loveless, Wax'o Paradiso, Partiboi69, Denim, Dean Turnley, Juicy Romance, Shanti, Soul Wun, Trustee, Mikalah Watego and William Kiss, with C.FRIM and MIRASIA playing back to back. A special guest is still to be named. Beat describes the music as stretching from techno and house through to garage, breaks and disco.
Tickets are sold through Humanitix in four releases: Pre-Sale at $185, First Release at $195, Second Release at $205 and Final Release at $215, each plus a booking fee. Pre-sale registration opened on 10 September 2026 and general sale followed on 18 September. Registering for the pre-sale did not guarantee a ticket, as registering placed buyers in a queue and offers depended on what was available.
Each ticket must carry the name of the person attending, and that name must match the photo ID shown at the gate. Once the festival sells out, tickets come back only through official Humanitix resale, and anyone who missed out stays on a resale waitlist. Payment plans and optional refund protection are offered at checkout.
