About Slam Dunk Festival
Slam Dunk Festival is a pop punk, emo, ska punk and alternative rock festival held over the late May bank holiday weekend at two sites in England. One day takes place in the north at Temple Newsam in Leeds and the other in the south at Hatfield Park in Hertfordshire, with the same line-up playing both days.
The event grew out of the Slam Dunk Records label and club night in Leeds. The first festival was held in 2006 in Leeds Millennium Square. It later moved into the Leeds University student union before shifting to outdoor parkland at Temple Newsam. Over the years the festival has added a southern date, and the current pattern pairs Leeds with Hatfield Park, the grounds of a Jacobean house north of London.
The 2026 festival took place at Hatfield Park on Saturday 23 May and at Temple Newsam on Sunday 24 May.
For 2027 the order switches. Slam Dunk North is at Temple Newsam, Leeds, on Saturday 29 May, and Slam Dunk South is at Hatfield Park on Sunday 30 May. The first wave of acts was announced in autumn 2026, led by Bowling For Soup, Simple Plan and Killswitch Engage. Also confirmed are Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, The Interrupters, Beartooth, Sleeping With Sirens, The Used, Hot Milk, The Maine, Wage War, ERRA, Grade 2 and The Amity Affliction, with more names to follow.
General admission day tickets cost £130 including fees, which is £115 face value plus booking fee. Weekend tickets covering both sites are also sold. Children under five can attend free with a Universe ticket, and the ticket information page explains the different ticket types and entry rules.
There is no camping at either site, so most fans stay in Leeds or around Hatfield and travel in on the day. Both venues are within reach of public transport. Leeds city centre has bus links to Temple Newsam, and Hatfield has rail connections to London King's Cross. The festival suits fans of early-2000s pop punk as well as newer metalcore and emo acts, since the bill mixes long-running bands with younger groups.
