About Cosquín Rock Uruguay
Cosquín Rock Uruguay is the Uruguayan edition of the Cosquín Rock festival brand, staged in Montevideo by the production company Piano Piano. Its organisers describe it as the biggest mosh pit in the country, and the Ministry of Tourism, which hosted the 2026 launch, said editions of the Cosquín Rock brand draw tens of thousands of people from Uruguay, the region and abroad.
The sixth edition in 2026 brought a change of site. Camilo Sequeira, director of Piano Piano, said at the launch that the festival was moving from the Prado to the Rambla of Montevideo, and that the growth this allowed meant the line-up could be brought together on a single day with a broad, multi-genre programme. He also stressed the festival's role in creating jobs and professionalising the sector.
The 2026 edition was planned for Saturday 21 March on the Rambla de Punta Carretas. Two days before, the organisers moved it to Sunday 22 March because of an adverse weather forecast, saying they wanted to look after the public, the artists and the crew; tickets stayed valid without reissue. On the day, music started at 13:45 across four stages, one of them in a 360-degree format. Third-round tickets cost 2,950 Uruguayan pesos for general entry and 6,350 pesos for VIP through RedTickets, with VIP including a preferential area, food and drink tastings, rest areas, parking and gifts.
The seventh edition is set for Saturday 10 April 2027 from 13:00, again on the Rambla de Punta Carretas at the Rambla Club de Golf site on Rambla Presidente Wilson. Listings describe it as suitable for all ages. Tickets are on sale through Uruguayan outlets, with a 2-for-1 offer through Club El País and a third-round general ticket listed by the Santander store, but the 2027 line-up and full price list had not been published at the time of research.
