About New Year's at the Bowl
New Year's at the Bowl is a New Year's Eve music festival at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl and the surrounding Kings Domain gardens in central Melbourne. Presented by Live Nation, it launched at the end of 2025 to give the city a large-scale, inner-city New Year's celebration.
The first edition ran over two days. Underworld played on New Year's Eve 2025, Maribou State and Berlioz played on New Year's Day 2026, and Carl Cox led the countdown, with Confidence Man, The Preatures, Emma-Jean Thackray and Harvey Sutherland among the wider bill.
The festival is back for a second year on Thursday 31 December 2026, this time as a single night. Gates open at 5pm and the event finishes at 1.30am, with three stages set among the gardens running from afternoon into the new year. Major Lazer heads the 2026 lineup alongside a special guest still to be announced for the countdown. The bill also includes Don West, Flight Facilities (DJ set), CC:DISCO!, Todd Terje, Miami Horror, Yung Singh, Close Counters, DJ Seinfeld (live), Helena Hauff, Milo Eastwood, MzRizk and Claire O'Brien.
General admission tickets on Moshtix are released in stages: Early Bird at $169.90, then First Release $179.90, Second Release $189.90 and Third Release $199.90, each plus $7 in fees. VIP and VVIP packages add viewing decks, dedicated bars and toilets, and express entry. Discounted Blak Tix are offered to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patrons through a code from the organisers. People with a birthday on 31 December or 1 January can apply for a complimentary GA ticket.
The event is strictly 18+ and valid photo ID is needed for entry. Entry is through Gate 1, and there is no re-entry once you leave. Bars and food trucks are cashless, free water stations are provided, and a cloak room operates outside the entrance. Each stage has its own accessible viewing platform, and Companion Card tickets are handled through Moshtix.

There are accessible bathrooms within the venue and limited four-hour accessible parking spaces on Linlithgow Avenue near Gate 1, which cannot be reserved. National Companion Card holders who buy a GA ticket can receive a complimentary companion ticket through Moshtix Support. Medication is inspected by medical staff through the accessibility lane.
