About Quilmes Rock
Quilmes Rock is an Argentine rock festival named after and backed by Quilmes, the country's best-known beer brand. The first edition took place on Wednesday 24 September 2003 on the auxiliary pitch of River Plate's stadium, with Luis Alberto Spinetta, Gustavo Cerati, Árbol, Divididos and Celeste Carballo among the performers. The festival focuses on Argentine rock and pop, alongside international acts, and has also had versions in Córdoba, Rosario and Santa Fe.
The festival has moved around Buenos Aires over the years. It has been held at the River Plate stadium, the Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Club GEBA, the Ciudad del Rock and the Tecnópolis exhibition grounds. Past editions have featured international names such as Aerosmith, Evanescence, Velvet Revolver and Ozzy Osbourne. In one memorable moment, former members of Sumo reunited for the first time since Luca Prodan's death to play three songs together.
After a long gap, the festival returned at Tecnópolis in 2022. The most recent edition ran over two weekends, on 5, 6, 12 and 13 April 2025, at Tecnópolis. Highlights included Los Piojos returning to the festival after 15 years, Andrés Calamaro, and David Lebón and Pedro Aznar performing songs by Serú Girán.
Quilmes Rock 2027 will take place over three consecutive days, 16, 17 and 18 April 2027. As of September 2026 the venue and line-up had not been announced, and fans could take part in Prode Rock, a game to guess the bill.
