About Wild Horses Festival
Wild Horses Festival is a three-day psychedelic electronic music and camping festival held on bushland at Carapooee West in central Victoria, on the traditional lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung people. The organisers describe it as a festival from the people, to the people, with music, arts and workshops. It began with gatherings in vineyards and the mountains before settling at Carapooee, its home for the past six years.
The 10th anniversary edition runs from Friday 13 to Monday 16 November 2026, with entertainment from Friday to Sunday and no entertainment on the Monday. Gates open at midday Friday, with earlier entry from 9am for priority pass holders. Attendance is capped at 2,500 people, and Beat reports that the festival has recently been issued a three-year permit.
The anniversary lineup includes international psychedelic acts DEKEL, who will be playing his sixth Wild Horses, along with Bayawaka, Convert-X, Daksinamurti, Egon's Embrace, Electrypnose, Etnica, Goreiju, Neurolabz, Persona, Pleiadians, SHTUBY, Tecnica, Thelios, Tilda and Tipota, plus a long list of Australian artists. A surprise 10th anniversary headliner will close the festival with an extended set.
Tickets are sold only through Triniq. The earlier rounds have sold out, and final round tickets are $385 plus a $13 booking fee. Car passes are required for every vehicle, and add-ons include caravan passes, priority entry and camping, return buses from Carlton Gardens and Caulfield Station, powered campsites and glamping with Peninsula Nomads. Locals living within 30 km of the site can get a free day pass with proof of address.
Wild Horses is a 21+ event with ID checked at the gate. Under its family policy, children aged 14 and under may attend with a parent or guardian through an underage ticket code, while people aged 15 to 20 are not permitted. The festival runs a strict social code: anyone whose behaviour makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe will be removed and banned from future events. It is also a leave no trace event, and attendees take their rubbish home.
The 2025 festival ran from 14 to 16 November 2025, after the organisers moved it from December following advice from the CFA and local council about fire risk.
